Obviously the wet weather is wreaking havoc on our home field. Stonehouse will be closed at least through Friday. I don't want to jump the gun on the weekend, but if we get the rain that is predicted over the next few days, Saturday and Sunday games at Stonehouse are definitely in jeopardy. For those that have home games this weekend, you should already be putting alternate plans in place. Possibly swapping fields with your opponents if they have turf could be an option. If you cancel and reschedule for another home date, be sure and check the master schedule and run it through me before completing the game change form. If you are the home team, you will need to submit a game change form through NCJLA by Saturday afternoon.
It is suppose to clear this weekend and be warming next week. Spring weather is coming, we just need to get through this wet patch.
Obviously the wet weather is wreaking...
I know it's been a struggle of late to get practices in at Stonehouse. Hopefully the weather is turning and we will get back on track. Next weekend, we have multiple games scheduled at Stonehouse. Based on the current weather forecast, I have no idea if stonehouse will be dry enough to play on. Varsity, JV and HS girls are schedule to play in Reno. I will be leaving town on Friday and will not be able to refresh the lines if the games are a go. If someone wants to paint the lines, I can have all the equipment made available to you. Obviously, if it doesn't dry up, there will be no need to paint. Let me know if you want to be responsible for this and I can give you information on the striping equipment.
I am trying hard not to be "that guy" that complains about the rain.
Due to wet weather, Stonehouse will be closed today. We will see how the week goes, but it looks like a pattern of rain for a few days. Keep your parents updated. It looks like most of you are away and on turf this weekend, but you will still want to make contact with your opposing coaches early in the week and have a plan if the weather continues into the weekend.
Due to wet weather, Stonehouse will...
Be sure you are following your game day protocols for home games. You need to email your opposing coaches a few days before and confirm the date, time and location. I will have the field box, table and chairs behind the wall near my front door. If you are the first home game of the day, it is your responsibility to pick up the field equipment and set up the field. If you are the last game you need to break down the field and return the equipment to my house. I will refresh the lines as needed so the markings should be good to go each week. If there is the possibility of a game cancelation due to weather and field conditions, you will need to communicate with the opposing team and officials. Make sure you set an appropriate deadline for canceling so we don't get charged for officials fees if we don't play.
Lastly, if you have any players with late orders for pictures, we need to get those to Kim Bartholomew.
